Audio Video Design collaborated with Kristen Terrio of VuDesign, Julia Chuslo Architects in Duxbury and Colclough Construction to create a dynamic smart home.
House integration is provided through a Control4 platform and includes distributed Audio and Video; Lutron whole house lighting control; and an enterprise level Pakedge networking system.
A 75 inch 4K Sony TV with a custom Leon LCR soundbar hangs above the family room fireplace. On the right wall under the art is a Totem Acoustic in-wall sub-woofer. The Control4 handheld remote provides access to local systems within the room including the TV, streaming music, and lighting. Kitchen cabinetry features beautiful lighting to showcase the homeowner’s china collection. The lighting dims in the case as well as for the recessed ceiling lights. Note the in-ceiling Architectural Speaker by Sonance – one of four located throughout the kitchen.
All of the gear is located in a rack within a mechanical space on the second floor. The entire system is designed with expansion in mind to include HVAC and security and surveillance in the future. The user experience is sophisticated but easy to use.
